Old Shepman Tree Football Club
"Football is a game of mistakes. Whoever makes the fewest mistakes wins"
– Johan Cruyff
The club began life as Old Shepherd FC, formed in August 2004 by regulars of the pub. It kicked off its existence in the Coventry & Central Warwickshire District Senior League, before finishing runners up in the Premier League the next season. The club then moved to the Coventry & District Senior Four League, narrowly missing out on the top spot by two points to finish second in its debut season.
Promotion up two leagues to Senior Two followed and, owing to a change in management at the Shep, a generous takeover package of sausages and chips enticed the teams to the Craftsman in 2008.
